Please join us in sending our congratulations to Head Program Instructor, Randall "Fritz" Frietzsche, who is one of three finalists nominated for the Colorado Technology Association Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Year for 2024!
In addition to this accomplishment, Randall was also inducted into the ISSA's Hall of Fame, and in September of 2023, attended and graduated from the FBI's CISO Academy at Quantico, VA.
When he is not teaching the Harvard Executive Education course, Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age, he works as the Enterprise CISO for Denver Health.
With 25 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, he finds that applying this knowledge to the health sector is especially rewarding as you can see the direct, positive impact it has on people’s lives.
As an educator, Randall finds joy in sharing real-world cybersecurity knowledge at scale through teaching and mentoring the learners in his courses. He hopes to continue his teaching career long after he retires as a CISO down the road.
Randall’s advice to all learners inside and outside of the classroom is to remain cautious against phishing attacks - don’t just click the first link you see when you research something, and double-check the domains you are browsing.
We are incredibly proud of Randall’s accomplishments and grateful for his commitment to sharing his expertise with our learners. Congratulations, Fritz!
UPDATE: Fritz WON the Colorado CISO of the Year for 2024! Check out his feature in the Denver Business Journal.
